Reconciling the company payroll is one of the most important elements of the payroll administrator/consultant’s tasks. Reconciliation is necessary to ensure that all the information captured on the system was entered correctly and that all the costs and expenditure are account for.
Balancing earnings and deductions to input documents
After all input has been captured the payroll administrator should verify that each set of figures entered on Pastel agrees with the figures that were given to capture. Reconcilling each earning and/or deduction as it is entered doesn’t take a great deal of time and can save hours later.
Payroll administrator should reconcile the amount of each earning and deduction for the current period to that of the last period taking all change into account. The figures after all the calculations should always balance the previous month’s salaries.
Payslips can be produced one the reconciliation balances and the payments authorised.
